Well I went mad out there today as we had a lovely dry day after all the rain!!

I even stained the table and chairs, which were looking very sad.

Didn't get to take pics as re-chargeable batteries are flat! Will play with camera tomorrow.

The first two pictures are of one side of the garden which we completely removed and replaced with slabbing, and a lovely summer house.
The last picture is where we pulled down the raised decking which was in such a state, oh wants to lay new turf there.

Hopefully we will have digging/planting finished today!

We have another part of the garden to 'do up'....we are going to lay flags, with a large gap in between each one, and fill the gaps with little stones.
That part of the garden is just nasty grass, at the bottom of the garden, and we can't do anything else with it!

We have got a massive Holly tree, and have a similar problem trying to grow anything anywhere near it, as the roots just take over.

There is a big tree in next door's garden, but a lot of the big roots are on my side, causing a big mound at one side of my garden!

I have just been out and cut some rhubarb - planted last year so this is the first we have been able to eat! I am going to make crumble later.

Planted raspberries last year too so should have them this year.

If the tree has a preservation order on it Heather-dont touch the roots as you can be fined £25,000!!!

If the tree isnt covered, chop through the roots with an axe or chainsaw, but warn neighbour first to stay amicable. Its easier than trying to work around numerous roots.
