I've just looked at the photos of the delightful Dudley. I don't know how big he is, or what he weighs, but he seems to have a lot of Lab in him. That being the case, and especially if he is a heavily built dog, I would be careful not to overdo the standing on the back legs It puts a lot of strain on the hips and back and may aggrevate any tendency towards hip problems.

Glad both of you are having fun

Zounds, not saying you are wrong - just be very careful Long backs, heavy build, susceptibility to HD = caution. A momentary 'up' may be ok - it is keeping the dog up on his back legs for more than a second or two which can be damaging, as can high-impact games/activities

It's ok SB - I know where you're coming from and it's good that I know now not to do that with him. can anyone think of sports or activities I can do with Dud that wouldn't be too high impact or cause too much strain? Since he's been hit by a car (probably) and his hips were already bad - i really don't want to make them worse.

Sure is a sport

I would think that most obedience trainers or obedience organizations would be able to give you information on tracking training. Or, try searching for tracking+dogs+uk. There will be heaps of info & addresses on the Net. Also I'm sure that someone who does tracking will be along to help soon If you have no joy I will do a search tomorrow - bedtime here
