31,000 year old dog found

Here is the link to the article- http://www.abc.net.au/science/articl...e&topic=latest

Hope no one else has posted this! Just thought it was really interesting- A massive Siberian husky? How they domesticated dogs?

For those who are interested, here is the wiki article on Tame Silver Foxes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tame_Silver_Fox

Hope you liked that!

Very interesting link, thanks for posting that.

The second link about the Russian experiments reminded me that they (The Russians) don't have a very good reputation when it comes to experiments with dogs.

fascinating - especially how they used isotopic analysis of the bones to find out what the dogs would have eaten. Marvellous what they can find out nowadays!

"In shape, the Palaeolithic dogs most resemble the Siberian husky, but in size, however, they were somewhat larger, probably comparable to large shepherd dogs,"

So roughly a Mal then

Fascinating articles! Thanks for posting them
