Sickness after antibiotics

I'm looking for some advice please. My 6 year old Dashchund has recently been prescribed cephorum and carprieve as he has a condition causing his nails to fall off. Last night he was sick on the hour every hour!

I got home from work today and there was yellow vomit everywhere. I have spoken to vet and he said to stop the tablets, wait for his appetite to come back and then try again.

My poor dog is so poorly he hasn't had any tablets at all now for almost 24 hours. Does anyone know how long they will take to come out of his system? He won't eat and is very lethargic.

Should I be worried or just trust my vets advice?

Make sure he is drinking enough, even if you have to use a spoon or syringe to get some boiled cool water into him. Then ring your vet for an emergency appointment.

He is drinking a lot more than normal but then it's just coming straight back up again. I've called vet but they closed. The emergency vet is quite far and I have no car. Vets open at 8.30 tomorrow do you think it can wait?

How is your dog now? Did you get the vet to come to you?

I took him to vet first thing in the morning and the vet was quite concerned and said he needed to go on a drip. He spent the whole of Friday night at the surgery. I picked him up yesterday afternoon and they said they think he had a gastro bug and was extremely dehydrated. They took blood samples which all came back normal. He is home now still taking antibiotics for his nails coming out but they have taken him off the painkillers. He seems his normal self now.

Got to take him back in 3 days to discuss his nail problem.

Poor old Bert has had a horrendous year had back surgery in January and was paralysed for 6 weeks, now his poorly feet and a tummy bug to top it all off!

Thank you everybody for your concern. I will keep you posted about his feet.
