My sister has carpal tunnel syndrome and has waited 11 months for an appointment that should have taken 4 months.

Today she got her appointment for next Monday and thats just for the tests.

How long is the next wait going to be

I had to go private at one point but luckily enough my doctor had and nhs clinic and fitted me into that to do the opperation so I only had to pay for the consultation. But as soon as I can afford it I am going to take out health insurance cause I have been mucked about so much and they still can't tell me what's wrong!!!

Sorry to hear that Candie like the others say pester people! Go back to your GP and moan and ask if anywhere else will be prepared to do it faster, if you don't mind travel (and no visitors ) you can opt to have it done anywhere that will take you. Also you must have seen a consultant?? Ring his sec a lot to ask about cancellations they will want to get rid of you..I had this prob with sick husband..I was such a pushy woman they either hid when they saw me or processed my requests asap

I was on the nhs waiting list for an operation the waiting list was 12 months, so i went back to my doctor he searched for hospitals with a smaller waiting list, i eventually got a date for the op - but by that time i had gone private, op was done 6 months ago now, went through hell and back after it was done, i dont regret it.

Hope you get it sorted.
