I hope this doesnt come in to my area, i dont ever let D off the lead other than in parks and such so i dont have a problem with that part but to have to keep him on the lead when he's in a park?????? Not going to happen, he is a big powerfull dog and i would be dragged around the grass with him, he NEEDS to run, thats the whole point of taking him to a park, otherwise i would just be walking him round and round the block.

I dont live in the countryside so am already limited as to where we can find green areas for him to play, luckily we have one 5 mins away, he would go crazy if he couldnt run around and i fear there will be lots of frustrated dogs around if this becomes the norm.

We seem to be becoming a very anti-dog society which is a great shame.

I think its crazy!! i have taken madie to dog training since she was four months and we still go now for socialising(shes 3yrs), she is very well behaved and absolutely loves her off lead runs chasing tennis ballls and has never caused a problem to anybody, i think if all councils adopt this law there will be more dogs with behavioral problems due to frustration.

Many parks in america are for on lead only and have they helped stop dog poo being left on pavements and in parks NO - have they stopped dog bites occuring NO.

What we should do is fine dog owners that do not keep their pets under control not punish the ones that do, my dog lives for running around off lead, and what of the growing obesity problems in dogs if they have to be walked on lead only they will get fatter.
