Bread making (buying fresh yeast)

Any fellow 'hand' bread makers out there having a problem buying good quality fresh yeast?
I get mine from the health food shop but it often looks tired when I get .

I have just discovered it can be purchased on Amazon in 500g blocks which can be split into small blocks and frozen.
I though yeast could only be frozen for a month but one person on Amazon froze some and used it after 10 months with good results.

Just ordered a batch..
