2 week old foal, shetlands and other horse

....but all asleep!!! I didn't want to get them up just to post for the camera, they seemed so peaceful and totally unafraid of me and Zena. This little baby is only 2 weeks old today and we did see him the very first day he was born.

Fast asleep on our arrival in the field, but when we came out we woked it up!

He isn't scared of us at all

Lol I know Norma, I still have to keep pinching myself living where I do now.

We first saw this little beauty shortly after it arrived, even before the owners, as we were out walking early one morning a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it had only just been born cos it couldn't find the teats on mum and was staggering about!

Looks like it's going to be a dun, although mum is jet black, but there is a dun in the field, but he's a gelding so it can't be his!!!

I can't quite believe how placid and quiet it is either, it totally ignores me and Zena even though she's running around for her ball, but of course, I make sure we're not too close to it just in case!

Oh he is gorgeous isn't he, going to be a big boy as well looking at the bone on him. The horses are in cracking condition, lucky you with all that on your doorstep, you can still get your horsey fix, that smell in the summer, something you never forget.

Ooooooh that little foal is just adorable and very very pretty. I too think it will be a dunn but it could change ..... you'll have to go and keep checking. As June says its going to be pretty big .... look at the size of his/her knees

Glad you liked this little awww factor today If I didn't have Zena with me, I might have been tempted to go and have a sneaky stroke. Maybe one day it'll have the courage to come over to us, it certainly wasn't bothered when I got down in front of it lying down there to take the closer pic, even though Zena was near to me.

These are the same people who I saved that colic horse for, but sadly, I never see it now, after it was stuck in that box for weeks on end, it's suddenly just "gone" and then the black mare appeared and then the foal. I daren't ask him though, just in case, so I just say good morning to him and comment on the baby and nothing more. Poor chap last his last horse with colic and if he's lost that last one through the same thing, I should imagine it would set him off if I mentioned anything.
