Kiah's first ride on Tufti (Shetland Pony)

Kiah(3) had her first ride today, she just had a half hour ride on Tufti the Shetland pony and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She wanted to go back again after tea. I think she is really looking forward to next week!!




They had just returned to the yard, the girl leading her works at the stables.

We've got a little shetland called Tibby. Shes very well behaved for a shetland
I'll take some pictures next week of her. Its nice to see little ones ride. We aren't aloud to have children under 5 at the stables. The BHS won't allow it as they aren't insured until they are 5.
Not only that their concentration span is only about 15mins. So i play lots of simon says games with them which teachs them not to be scared

Thank you Jan and Eunice, Kiah absolutely enjoyed it. Tufti certainly is a little character. Kiah didn't have a lesson, just a quiet ride around the lane near the stables, we don't want to push her as she is still only three. She's horse mad!!

Thanks, looks like this riding is going to be expensive. When I learnt to ride it was 12s 6d an hour!!!! For those who don't remember money before decimalisation, it works out at 62.5p!!
