As long as you are feeding dogs liver and heart there is nothing in kidneys that cannot be provided by anything else.

I feed kidney coz I like to give him some variety, and I don't want to feed too little offal... but don't want to feed to much liver So, kidney fits the bill

I thought heart was classed as muscle meat and not offal? But what about chicken or turkey gizzards? They are offal but are very meaty, so would they count as the offal part of Pereg's diet?

Yeah, heart is muscle meat and not offal.

I have never fed gizzards, but from what I have read, they are counted as offal. I'm sure someone else will know better though.

ETA - Just did a quick search, and someone said that gizzards are muscle I dunno

Anything that comes from inside an animal is offal, whether it is a muscle nor not.

This would include
Brains
Spinal Cord
liver
pancreas
tripe
lungs
kidneys
heart

Whether or not meat is muscle is more about the way it works eg like tongue.

I've always been told that, when feeding dogs, heart is classed as muscle meat... if it is offal, that Jake has been getting way too much!

I still class it as muscle meat though.

My personal view is that it is immaterial what a meat is called it is what nutrients it possesses which are key to feeding information.

So how could I find out what nutrients there are in gizzards?
