Your input required for training club

What would / Do you prefer

a training club that covers all aspects of training
with classes split out over the evening covering diff training

OR

eg
ringcraft
obedience {from pre begginers to class C }
pet obedience
puppy socialisation/playgroup

or training clubs that cover just one of the above

Oh I'm a definite cover all.I like to have puppy classes for the wee ones which develop into the older groups.I also love a mix as the serious aspect of obedience isn't for me all the time.I like to have the basics of obedience,you know like the basic commands.Your hall is massive and could even be sectioned off for different classes.Ringcraft isn't for everyone but it does teach a dog to be given the once over by people and is handy when going to a vet,xxxxxxxx

i voted other as i would want obedience and puppy play group, but would rather socialisation and full body handling, and forget ringcraft. as most peeps dont show their dogs, ringcraft isnt really relevant to the average pet dog owner.

I have voted all, but I think it needs to cater appropriately for the members that are there. For example, I wouldn't want to go to a club that has everyone, together with different aspirations. IE, I do a little obedience training for fun and control, and have no intention of competing at obedience, so would want to be in the same class as people that are wishing to compete at the top level. I hope that makes sense to you all, because I am lost

Hi krusewalker, playgroup and socialisation are covered, we let the pups play but the adults get a chance later on, we have several adults who can interact with the pups at play time too, x

yup totaly, I start training at 6.30 and sometimes dont stop untill 10pm or later if we have a lot on that week, so when busy, its kinda works, 6.30 puppy play group, 7.00pm begginer / pet obed {some of the pups may stay for that}
more advaced obed 7.30 or 7.45 depending on numbers, im lucky the show folk are mates so they dont mind being last this means we can cover any problems in depth meaning we dont have a set time to end, we stop when the trainings done,,, seen me there up to 10.45 some nights lol.

it all depends on the amount of dogs going through the place but it seems to work for us, the more advanced obed will come in when the pet stuff is on so help out with that, x

I put other.

I like having stuff on a separate night, but if it is going to be all in the one night, then I would prefer it to be run to a set time(as close to the times as is possible in dog training)

By that I mean (I'll use your examples)
Puppy Playgroup 6-6:30pm
Pet Obed 6:30 to 7:15pm
Obed (covering beg to class c) 7:15 to 8:15pm
Ringcraft 8:15 to 9:15pm

Just put rough time estimates, obvisouly different classes will do more or less of some than others if doing more than one thing.
I prefer it this way as it means people know what is coming up and know what time their class should end at etc

its great in theory megan but I have found some folk work funny shifts and so on, so I try to accomidate people where I can eg,,, if some one wanted pet obed but couldnt come at that time I would allow them to come to the more advanced,,,because the advanced dont need me on there case all the time, hence I could offer one member the time they need along side the more advanced, cheers though,

I was just putting rough times so that you could see what I meant, you could start them earlier or later... of course if someone couldn't come to the pet obed and the folk in the advanced didnt mind then that wouldn't be a problem

Was just giving my view on it as you asked me on another thread
