Puppy eating poo !!!!!!!

Hi all ,hope sombody can help ,i know we all have occasional problems with even adult dogs eating poo ,but our 12 weeks old border collie seems to hsve a mania for it liturally as soon as she's done it she eats it :smt001 uck !!,ive tried staying with her while she gos ,and taking her away ,while praising her for doing it ,ive tried calling her excitedly ,and giving her atreat when she comes ,but either she takes the treat and then runs back to eat the poo or she ignores me untill shes eaten it whats also interesting is that she has yet to go while were on a walk ,she has had an occasional wee while out ,but no poo ,i had hoped that by praising gemma when she go and walks away ruby would realise whats required but it does'nt seem to be the case any suggestions would br gratfully apprieated, mist add someone suggested putting her lead on everytime she gos but thats not practical as she gos at odd times .

I wish I knew!!! She may grow out of it, some of them do. There is a pill you can give called Deter (PAH) but it has never deterred mine! I have also heard that a change of food can help, adding pineapple to the food, or putting something extremely spicy on the poo. Hope one of these things helps.

my vet said it was normal for dogs, yukky for us we associate it with humans doing it yukky, but when tigger wasnt digesting her food properly it came out looking like it did going in,so i understood it that way but it still turns me,

My last pup was a fiend for this! All I can suggest is that you have a poo bag at the ready every time they poo and pick it up immediately, don't alow them the opportunity and they'll stop in the end.

I had a sammy that did this, I just made sure I picked up immediately, I didnt give the dog a chance after I found out he had a taste for it.

A lot of puppies do it. Lily my Skye Terrier was a little monkey for doing this the first few weeks we had her she didn't give us chance to even pick it up but the last two months she seems to have grown out of it or so we hope
