Training rewards - do you use them?

Do you use training rewards?

I use them only for toilet training and when Georgie stops biting as he's told to.

I don't use specific 'treats' though, i use kibbles of dried dog food. This is my way of rewarding him, and getting him to eat dried food at the same time as he wont eat it out of a bowl!

I use some dried dog food as well, taken out of Wills daily food allowance so she'll not pile on weight.

When she was on tablets I hid it in a bit of cheese and got her to either sit, down or come when she got it. She still looks interested when I get the cheese out of the fridge.

Small cubes of cheese are great as a training aid cause dogs love it.Another is cold sausage sliced thinly.

I have a bag of treats, specific training ones but have forgotten what they are called! Got them in PAH.
Also use some mixer left from when Hollie had wet food and mixer.
Can't use cheese as it makes her poorly.

My dog piled on weight using cheese, sausage and chicken as training rewards- also she had the runs. She now gets Coachies which I bought from PAH- from Company of Animals-Roger Mugfords set-up. They are only 1 calorie each and my dog LOVES them

my dogs wouldn't work for anything less than freshly cooked chicken, liver or liver cake, but you cut down on their daily intake elsewhere if necessary.

Liver can give dogs diorrhea- I cant feed it at all. Small quantities are better until u are sure your dog can tolerate it- esp. pups.

I think anything new can upset their tums, mine can't tolerate cheese other than tiny quantities.
