I know her, and you won't go far wrong with Sheila if it is her. She is an APDT member.

I know Sheila Hocken, lives round the corner from me and I used to see her training her GSP's on the park. I know her daughter better as I went to school with her. She made my life hell but thats a different story!

What kind of things do they train for Aimee?

I'm not sure - it does say on the sign that they do obedience, basics and agility I think.

I have contacted her actually, but I think I was waiting til I could afford to train with her. This one is £3 a dog so hardly breaks the bank and I think Sheila H's is £25 an hour - can't remember now.

£25 an hour for a training class?!! You cannot be serious!
I guess it is because she is "famous" because of her lovely Emma books.

I'm not sure - I probably got that figure mixed up with others I've been researching - I've just had a look on her website - can't find a price list - but I have that figure from somewhere - I'll see if I can find the email.

Personally - I`d go along. If anyone asked me to do something I didn`t want I wouldn`t do it.
It depends if you think you can say No, I suppose. I doubt you`ll find many clubs whose methods you are 100% sure of because we all train slightly differently.
You take what you like, and you reject what you don`t.

Oh that's very reasonable in that case.

I did, I think it's good for Louie, as I trained him at home and in the garden he knows his stuff but there hasn't been many distractions around so he's easily distracted.

Obviously 'cos I did train him myself I have different techniques and words, like with me = heel, this way is for a turn and I tend to praise him whilst he's doing something like "good stay, good boy" because his release word is OK..the trainer told me not to do that but that's how he's been taught and I haven't had any problems.
