Treats for training, what do you use...

I was wondering...What are your dogs favourite treats that you use for training??

My dogs get JWB CrackerJacks and all the biscuits in the Nutro range amongst other things...Cheese, etc.

...But what will your dog do absolutly almost anything for?? As I am looking for extra ideas.

I used to use Liver while training with Keena and she loved it and would work hard to have some but I found I think it made her have an upset tummy.

I know a beef steak would work!...But I need something a bit more pratical...lol

They will take or leave biscuit type treats outside while I am training them, indoors they love them, outside they arn't as bothered with them.

So any ideas for treats that will really get my dogs attention??

I dont know if you have this in UK...

But I use diced ham.... We can buy it already diced to be used in pitabreads or salads...

Or I use hotdogs that I cut out in ickle peaces...

Wot about boiled chicken? Cheese? (I cant comment on the cheese bit, I cant stand cheese, so Luna wont be getting that)

Fish-meatballs..

Hmm dont have anymore ideas...

either cheese, or those little cubes of ham. You can get them in packets, and the dogs love it.
There is a trick my mum said, when she used to show dogs, b4 i was born, (as u know we bred show staffies and dobies). Anyway she used to put fish paste under neather her finger nails, and keep one hand infront of the dogs, when she was going around the ring, and the greatest thing, as long as you dont go for a pungent fish smelling one, then the judge wont be able to tell, and think that you have a great dog
best wishes

I have been using hotdog but they lost interest with it I am thinking about cooking proper sausages for them and cutting up and see how they go as they are a bit more meaty they may like them a bit more.

It's difficult as indoors all these things they gladly eat in a hurry but outdoors they don't really go nuts to have them so that's why I was looking for something that will pack a bit more of a punch for them!

Lu-1...I know a lady who does that with her dogs...lol

I have been getting those tins of spam and cutting that up into cubes for them??...Is that similar to the ham you are talking about?...They like it but don't go crazy for it. Maybe they realise that spam is crap...lol
