Thank you Shiba

well with egg number three we are not sure
one baby should have hatched friday, then one today and then one on monday

but as two hatched the same day, and a day earlier than expected we really are not sure

so hubby is going to check in a minute to see if it has hatched

God they look so helpless, does it mean coz two hatched together the third has less chance? Do they have some sort of sense?

No not really Laura, the first one should have hatched friday, second 2morrow and 3rd tuesday

so we are not sure when the 3rd one was laid so it has until about wednesday/thursday to hatch, if it has not hatched by then, then it probably wont hatch at all
this happens alot they lay three but only two hatch
and then some years all three hatch

yes they are very helpless right now, all they can do is hear, and their mum and dad move them and feed them

they should start opening their eyes in a few days though, then they become quite active

Thank you Becky

yes mum and dad are an excellent pair and have never minded us going in and looking at the babies, even handling them isnt a problem, but we never do this for a few days at least

mum will soon pluck their fluffy bums why she does this we aint quite sure

A wonderful thread Jackie. I'd never have seen baby macaws if it weren't for you! Thanks so much for sharing - they are fab, and Sausage and Chips are doing a fantastic job! xox
