I was talking with hubby earlier (lol no not about keeping him...well maybe but!!!)

We were talking..that if he had went 2 doors down he would have been met by two staffies (that attack anything that moves including people and other dogs, they aint fast enought to catch my cat though they have tried!!) 2 doors past that he would have been met with a pigeon hut full of pigeons and probably a spade over the head should the man who lives there have found him...2 doors up is a rabbit breeder who has a large shed and open topped run..again he wouldn't have hesistated with a shovel to the head!!!

So yes I think although my dogs scared the life out of him..he was lucky to come our way

I would now call it a ferret as its a friendly wee thing..(but I didn't know that at the time!)

He is loving raw chicken and raw mince..so thats the menu for the rest of the week..

he is curled up in his hay bed..and now has a couple of branches to climb on and some toilet roll tubes and a tennis ball to play with LOL..
sorry, didnt mean to sound like i was criticizing

its a common thought they are the same thing, especially as, just to confuse matters, one of the ferret colorings is often referred to as polecat!!

although you can get hybrids.

if he's friendly, he definitely aint a polecat!!

ferrets are my second thing after dogs, i love them!

i love the photo, hes well cute.

Its cool...I'm just glad he's ok whatever he is..
He is very very cute..I am sure he's just a baby..My 9 yr old is begging Daddy as we speak to keep him (I am not discouraging her at all)

When I phoned my friend I was shouting down the phone "whts the differnce between a ferret and a polecat" and he launched into an explanation..Then I said..are either of them likely to be wandering wild around where I stay..and he said No..so then I knew it must be someones pet..

He comes running when you speak to him..or even just walk in to the room..

ONLY in my house would there be a flipping ferret living in the shower

LOL As cute as he is and as much as I want to..(woke up to CJ sitting crosslegged on the bathroom floor this morning waiting on him waking up )

I don't think it would be fair on him..I know nothing about them..so my selfish want is less important than a good home for him

ferrets are great, I used to have them, you can clicker train them to do all sorts of stuff,

that one looks quite young? is it male?

they are so much fun to watch, my dogs got on great with them once they were used to them.
