Steam cleaning a carpet

This is really dog related as it's a carpet for HTM show.

If a carpet had been stored folded for a year and it was creased could steam cleaning it take creases out??

I had a folded up rug given to us that was way too ugly to put down with the current carpeting in the room, but was fine once we changed the carpet and wall color ages ago.

A home steam cleaning machine run over it about 2 or 3 times to get out weird closet odors did get rid of the creases, as well. We were content to try and flatten them by walking on the rug and pinning it down by bits of furniture.

But the rug is somewhat thin and if it was a thicker rug, I really don't know if it'll work. Might need a professional cleaning, and still might not work.

It should work, steaming generally works on creases in anything.

Thanks for that. Next question how long would it take to dry after steaming?

We only have room to lay it out from night before as we are talking 20m square.
