Feel Silly......but best way to cook Pork Chops in the oven!!

Hey alll

Feel silly asking but I am cooking Pork Chops for the first time tonight (I know how sad)

I was going to do them under the grill but am going to do roast pots (I am good at them) and all with them so need to do them in the oven really!!

What is the best way to do them?? What heat, how long, what to cook them in etc

Thanks in advance!!

I`d imagine you have to brown them first so why not just fry them?

I used to oven-cook or grill mine, or use the "George Formby" (as my mum calls it...lol), but they have a real tendency to go dry if you do that, and a dry pork chop is not very appetising and often a bit chewy.

Went back to frying them - much better and you can get them lovely and moist and juicy without overcooking.

Only with some kind of sauce ---I think I used to do a tomato/garlic/mushroomy type many moons ago----but not with roast tats I served it with rice.

Frying will be best I think.

I cook them in the oven - because my grill doesn't work!
They come out the same as if they were done in the grill!

I put them on a wire rack thing, on top of a grill pan with foil in the bottom (saves on washing lol), and put the temp on about 200 degrees, and cook until they look cooked!
(I don't really time anything when I cook!)

i don't eat meat so i'm at a disadvantage regarding tasting stuff, but when i do pork chops or pork steaks for dh and the kids, i just bung them in the oven on a baking tray (i usually brush with oil and season. No complaints so far.

Or you could egg and breadcrumb them, put them in for about 45 mins, turning once half way thru - same as for your spuds!

Thanks for the replies guys (and whoever changed the spelling in the title)

I did them in the oven in the end (I don't really like frying meat much) put some salt and pepper on and a tiny bit of oil on the edges etc. They came out very nice I must say! Not as nice as my goose fat potatoes tho YUMMY!
