First trip in the caravan.

So we're back from our short break in Cheddar. It went mostly well excluding a trip to A&E for me and the squits for Layla. The dogs were brilliant and took to the caravan really well and the campsite was very relaxed and they had a whole field to run round in much to the youngsters delight. There was even a puppy Jack Russell next door that Scooby was quite enamoured with.

Anyway here's the photos!

One day we climbed up to Brean Hill fort with the dogs -

When the boys weren't sunning themselves they were busy spying on the neighbours -

Scooby got the feeling there was someone behind him -

He fell asleep on guard duty -

And my defence against squitty bum Layla in case she didn't manage to wake me in the night I didn't want her pooping on the carpet so I layered the kitchen floor with bin bags and newspaper

We did go in to Cheddar itself but I was concentrating on the dogs too much to take photo's. Layla did very well with all the scary strangers and only 'oofed' at a few people.

Now I have four happy, sleepy hounds

Hope you and Layla are OK now.

Super photos, no better way to holiday with dogs than in a caravan.

Hope you have many happy holidays.

Jen, what on earth did you do to end up in A&E? I do hope it was nothing major and that you are OK now. (((hugs)))

Lovely photos but fancy plonking poor little Bandit on top of that high whatever-it-was! Is lovely Layla over her squits now?

Thanks guys. I ended up at A&E because I was having dizzy spells and then I collapsed. It turns out I'm anaemic so I'm now on iron tablets. Apart from climbing to the hill fort we took it steady the rest of the holiday.

Layla has had a couple of meals of cottage cheese and yoghurt and has gained some more control of her bum so this afternoon she had some chickens necks to see if they can bung her up. She's still fine in herself but. She did poop brown liquid all over the pavement in the gorge. Luckily we were feet from the van so we could wash it down rather than have anyone stand in it!

Bandit hates posing he's so funny, he looked happy right up until I raised my phone to take the photo, silly boy

I'm already planning the next trip in the spring, I ain't wait!

My dogs love the caravan, they get so excited when I start to load it, looks like your's are the same. Lots of different places to exploy and read the wee mail of dogs they don't know.

You caravan looks like a Lunar, I have a Lunar and prefer them to the other makes, I find they tow better as well. I took my carpet up and put cushion floor down to make cleaning easier and use vetbed as rugs, the much goes through them to the underneath so the top stays reasonably clean, they also dry a lot quicker one of my dogs knocks the water bowl over.

Instead of blankets on the seating I put bunk bed fitted sheets on them, they fit the bottom mattresses really well and the backs are a bit big but better than having muddy paw marks on them. For the smaller ones I use pillow case. They are easy to take off and wash.
