I hope y'all had a good day yesterday........

........'cos I bleedin' didn't! Despite calm weather, the power went out about 7.30.am. It was out all day, until 8.40 pm, so I never got near the computer, we had to replace all our cordless phones with old ones. Out came the oil lamps and the unelectric kettle (we have a le Creuset Kone for emergencies like this). Fortunately, Border Collies aren't always entirely black, so we could (just) see them. In fact, Kali has a white patch on his bum, which, we tell him, is called "Target", so that we can smack him during power cuts

The power company, when phoned, were, of course, no help at all. At one point, they said "it will be back any minute now." That was 2hr 10 min. before it did come back. God only knows what it will be like when winter actually gets started!

Certainly not enough to break the power lines! The windmills are all geared to stop when the windspeed gets below 12 mph!

Blimey, Snorri, what a nightmare - still, it must have been rather romantic, eh?
