The fish on my US hit list is an Alligator Gar. I did manage to hook into one a couple of years ago, but I didn't get the hook behind the plate in it's mouth and it spat it out as soon as I got it's head out of the water

I went after them when I came to Texas last year, but failed miserably There were plenty of alligators though 
My OH loves the Red drum, and targets them each time we've come across the pond
