Proud of Stumpy

Seems to be something in the air for making our dogs behave at the moment (ooh am I tempting fate saying that )

We had such a good walk today and Stumpy did so well-

(1) I saw her take off chasing something in the woods - thought it was going to be a rabbit but when I turned and saw it was a deer, I shouted 'Stumpy leave' and she stopped dead
(2) she met a choc lab nicely without chasing it away and even tried to have a bit of a play
(3) she walked past loads of fisherman (who for some reason she hates and would normally go bazerk) and only had a small woof at one of them. Admitedly she was on lead, but we were quite close to them so still good going
(4) she played ball in the open area, bringing it right back to me with loads of distractions all around - other dogs, screaming children, lots of tall men
(5) she went swimming properly rather than just paddling

Tomorrow may well be a different story, but its nice to see such a big step forward.

..if tomorrow isn't so good well never mind Stumpy is doing well some of the time and she's a happy dog and that is really all that matters. xx
