Swollen eyes

Our 5 month old pups have just been outside and when i went to get them in they were playing with frogs that have come out of the pond due to the torrential rain we are getting, one of the pups eyes have swollen since it came in and we are worried that it may have been sprayed at by one of the frogs,we have rung our vets and they say this could be possible and is nothing to worry about, they also suggested that we could give them an allergy relief tablet such as Piriton,do you think this would be safe to do and has anyone had similar problems.

My first reaction on reading your email was to think "allergy" as our younger girl gets swollen eyes mainly in the summer time due to allergies. Piriton is a good all rounder so yes if you have them give your pup one and hopefully all will be well in the morning, if not give your vet another call as they can give a quick acting anti histamine injection which will ease the symptoms very speedily.
