Doris has been shot

My sweet little Mog Doris was only gone half an hour this morning, came back from walking the pups and she was sat by the back gate (which I thought was unusual as shes usually sitting on top of the shed waiting for me to come back) she runs in as I am sorting the pups out runs under the coffee table as I went to sit down to give her a fuss I noticed that she had blood coming out of the side of her face upon a closer look I saw that she had a deep puncture wound on the side of her right cheek thought no more of it other than that maybe she had a bit of a scrap with the Mog that lives three doors down. Booked her in at the vets got her in for 11:30 just to get her checked out vet had a quick look and told me he suspected that she had been shot with an air rifle I've just had the call from the vets and their X-Rays have confirmed this, she has an air gun pellet stuck in the side of her right cheek just underneath her eye, vet said shes an extremely lucky little cat they are going to operate to remove it some point in the morning but I have been warned she will come home looking in a bit of a state :smt022
Why oh why do people do this? I am so upset and angry right now :smt022

OMG poor Doris ... I am livid on your behalf. What on earth makes people do things like this? I wish I could get hold of them ...

I hope little Doris will be ok.

Poor, poor Doris and poor you as well.

I am so angry and upset by this. What is going on in the world we live in when people do this sort of thing?

I'm not sure if it will do much good, but have you reported it to the police? I don't know if it will help because last Summer a cat was attacked (not far from us) with a knife or pair of scissors by a group of kids. The poor thing survived but despite police and RSPCA investigations and a local man offering a substancial reward, they never caught the evil b******* that did it.

Hugs to Doris
