Progress

Hi all

Well I'm well chuffed....

This morning I played a bit with Luna and her dummy. We ended with 4 retrieves and EVERY TIME she came and sat in front of me WHILE holding dummy!!!!

Wahoooo 4 "sit and holds"

I'm very proud of my girl

I know I know, its only a step on the way, and we will probablely have set backs, but I'm happy this morning

J

Well done Jeanette and Luna

Now she knows what is required you will go from strength to strength.

You might need to vary the excercises until the the retrieve/sit/hold are second nature. You want to keep up her enthusiasm for what needs to be the most fun of exercises for her so that she looks forward to it and does not get bored by over-repetition. Once she realizes 'hey I'm a retriever & this is what I was meant to do' she will probably be happy to retrieve all day

Thank you Fred, and we are moving onwards

Hi SB

Yeah I do vary it.. Last night she took a soft ball from her toybasket and we threw that for a bit..

And I know AM says its a BIG NONO to play tug with a retriever, but I must admit, that I've used the tug to get her worked up

And she loves her soft dummy, where we play tug when she bring it to me.

I will point out.. this morning we played tug a few times, I told her sit and hold, but had to hold her mouth (lightly) so she didnt drop the dummy while sitting.. The 4 time she sat down infront of me by herself, without us having played tug...

oh boy that looks soo confusing.

Well I'm still on cloud 9, so forgive me for any weird sounding sentences

Ooh I've still only done this indoor.. Should I keep it indoors for a wee while yet or can I take it outside on walks?
