Working sheepdog pups - 2 years on

Here are a few sheep and sheepdog photos taken this evening.

The two dogs in the photos are the two pups (now 2 years) that we kept from Eve's litter. Both are doing really, really well and have earned their permanent place in the working team

Half past five this morning (note the snow on the ground! )

Sheepdogging this evening.

Lapwing and chicks

Thanks Sarah. Craig, in particular, is a really hard, strong dog on his sheep - akin to a tiger really He certainly takes some handling!

That is Craig. He is a really serious dog. I have noticed that just about all the pics are Craig, with only one of poor Fly The battery ran out in the camera I will try and get some more of Fly and the other dogs tomorrow

Craig is quite like Tip, who was on the front of International Sheepdog News in the latest edition He is becoming a very promising trials dog for a friend of the hubby's (along with another of that litter, Greg). I will try and scan the photo of Tip tomorrow when I have a bit of time.

Glad you like the photos That will be you and Siren before too long

Aww. I can't imagine my hubby ever doing anything else. He loves this life. What does your OH do now? Do you think he would ever return to shepherding? Was he born into it or was it a career choice? Sorry for so many questions

There is no problem in the relationship between the birds and farmers as such, I think the decline in lapwing numbers is due to the loss of the right habitat for the birds, with changes in farming practice over the years. However, we have loads of lapwings up here, as the habitat is perfect for them.
