The bar keeps them away from the bike so you don't run over them so just hook him up and start slowly, it doesn't take long for them to get the idea.

I have to say thought, that I don't think the Walkydog is suitable for larger dogs because my two Weims just moved the bar round even though it wouldn't get any tighter. I'd like to try the Springer but can't justify the expense at the moment!

This looks really good fun. I was bought a bike two years ago for Christmas but it hasn't been out the shed yet, may just be the excuse to pump the tyres up!

Well, after trying out the Walkydog a few times now, I have to say, we love it!!

Here's a short video my Husband took just before we set off for this morning's ride. It's a bit rubbish as it was taken spur of the moment and he only had his phone to hand.

I do need to either get a more secure harness or adapt the one I have by clipping something between it and his collar, as partway along our ride, I had to stop as a family of deer bounded out onto the track. Murph went ballistic and although I felt safe and secure enough, on the bike, he came very close to backing out of the harness.

Wonderful! He loves it, like they all seem to! I use one of these harnesses:

I bike with Honey when I can, mainly in places where I can have her off lead, but if not she just has a 6ft lead looped around the handle bars, how techinal is that I think that I have a vid of her running next to the bike off lead somewhere.

I went for the Esydog harness and whilst trying to find a picture on Google I was reminded that it also came with a bit that you can use as a car seatbelt attachment... which also turns out to be perfect for adapting as a bit to connect between harness and collar. Problem solved!!
