Puppy socialisation and training

I have looked everywhere but cannot find anything apart from afternoon puppy parties at vets which I dont want.

I want to be able to work through different award schemes with my pup but how do you get on them.
With so much talk about training I thought this bit would be easy but finding anything is turning into a nightmare.

How did you get on with this? You have probably already got this sorted but the Kennel Club do a Good Citizen Award Scheme, if this is the sort of thing you were interested in?

Look for dog clubs in your area & ask if they do puppy socialisation, Several do take puppies as young as 4 months, the club I go to will take any puppy once they've had their inocculations & they do a bit of the first class, as much as they & the trainers feel they can cope with & we had a 6 month old pass her bronze last night. Afraid I can't help in your area, hopefully someone who lives nearer will be able to help more.
