This is probably a stupid question, but could you have missed it? I only ask because one of my mum's had her first season at 8 months, but had hardly any discharge. Mum said she wouldn't even have noticed it if Ellie hadn't been playing the tart on the beach one day.

From what I remember reading prior to getting my Jack Russell girl- larger breeds generally mature later than small breeds-esp. terriers. Mine had her first season at 5.5 months- I was quite shocked so I think after one year of age isnt un-common

Hi, duboing, I doubt I have missed it, I show Maddy too so I have been especially looking out for it coming (don't want any accidents )

Thanks Zeta, I am aware larger breeds mature slower, but I have had a dog larger than Maddy who got her season at 10 months, and I have a friend with 2 dane girls who both got theirs around 12 months, she is very immature though and always has been.

Hi
Both my girls started after 12 months, in fact one of them was 16 months I kept thinking that I must have missed it but like you I show so I knew I hadn't

My Inca is 16 months and still hasn't had her first season! Must admit it's the latest any of mine have gone.
