We got married on a beach at Crear in Scotland, beautiful, secluded and so pretty, up the West coast, prettier than Gretna .

Couple of grand for a week long wedding holiday, just us and the dogs (and my sis and her fella for the day/ceremony as our witnesses) beautiful flowers, photographer and meal included

Our wedding

Give them a ring, they might have a few dates free and going cheap, they're REALLY friendly and helpful!

You could get a "special" wedding licence which enables you to marry within one day rather than the usual 15 days.

I got married in a registry office with just my mother and grandfather as witnesses and a meal at home cost MUCH less than £1k in fact I would think less than £200 mind you that was in the 70s

I had a registry office wedding too. We were allowed nine guests, but ended up having eight and my mother in law had pleurisy on the day.

Went for a meal with my sister and brother in law straight after (rest of the family had to work) and went out with them again at night.

Cost was minimal and we enjoyed it

We got married in a registry office, i still had a nice dress and was driven there by my brothers friend in his vintage Jag.

After we had drinks and a food in a marquee in my aunts huge back garden, then in the evening we had hired a small hall and had a party

If we had the oney though i would have liked to have gone to Vegas and had a really cheesy "little chapel" wedding with Elvis present !!

We had a 'basic' wedding. Dress was gorgeous but 'off the rack' and on offer lol as was the veil! xx

We got married at our place of worship (am a Jehovahs Witness) - no charges at our Hall and no charges from the friend who married us either.

Our reception was mostly Costco food with contributions from friends and relatives. My mum made the cake.

My brother and cousin provided matching white Saab cars for wedding cars. Bridesmaid dresses were shop bought rather than specialist.

It was organised in about 3 months.

It was wonderful and no regrets here! We've now been married for 5 1/2 years.

My husband and I arranged our wedding and married within 3 weeks, booked local registry office, wedding guests were very close friends and family with the reception at my parents house. Perfect

That's what we did in 1972 but with a few more guests, I didn't want a big fuss. We had a party at home (we often had parties in those days) my sister thought it was terrible and thought mum and dad would be disappointed but as I was married in September and she decided to get married in December same year I should think they were relieved!

Don't forget the pics when you do get married Hannaho!!
