It does my head in how some midwives and doctors talk to pregnant women as if there children and need to be kept calm and quiet, and don't give a straight answer but evade explaining anything.
I'm glad you said this - im getting very fed up with being spoken to like i don't have two brains to rub together! And the "how very dare you" looks you get when you dare have a bit of background knowledge!

I'm sure the specialist will answer all your questions, but I would urge to to adhere to any advice they give you. My sister refused to take any sick leave when she had high bp during her pregnancy, she tried to carry on as normal and was duly hospitalised for several weeks. She was bored to tears and could have kicked herself for not resting at home when she had the chance.
Eeek that's what im worried about!!! I have spent the whole weekend relaxing so fingers crossed that's helping x

They should just monitor you more carefully (mind you don't get me started on me NOT getting monitored by the hospital after a blooming 7 weeks premature delivery last time... at least my midwife rings me to check up how I am - I'm going to set her onto the hospital to bite them round the ankles a bit!)

And yeah lynnb - they don't half talk to you like half your braincells fled the country the second sperm met egg (don't get me started on health visitors who do this even MORE)... granted, my brain cells were never there to start with but still! Mind you - I'll take that over the ones who I've seen on post-natal wards SHOUTING at women worse than you'd shout at any delinquent dog.
Nightmare sorry to hear u had a rough time. Xx

Im attempting to convince them i have no issues whatsoever with dr's, hospitals, needles, blood.....

The ones ive met so far definitely talk to you like you've lost your marbles!

Oh other ones I hate - when they refer to you as mum or mummy in midwife or hospital appointments - drives me insane! (Thankfully my midwife's a sweetie)

And the impeccable logic of my GP surgery when the midwife went sick - got a stand-in one in, and didn't bother to give her access to the part of the computer system that stores blood test results on... to this day I've still got no idea if my 28 week bloods last time came back with any causes for concern or anything! (Will probably be 28 weeks THIS time before I find that particular one out!)

As for my health visitor who keeps ringing me up to get me to pop down to the baby clinic "for a hug"...

Oh gawd, that so reminds me of the ginormous paediatrician when I took my then 5-week old daughter due to projectile vomiting who said slowly "put the baby on the breast, please Mother".

My response was "ummm" , thinking rapidly and extremely embarrassed because there was a room full of people, "which breast" , and he said, just as slowly, "on the left breast, please Mother".

Take it easy but start asking a lot more questions.
Haha aye it might just be the stress of bloody getting parked at the hospital!!!

I can't remember exactly, both the top and bottom number were in the hundreds, it'll be written down in the book thing you get......hang on I'll look it out

That has been my answer re blood pressure and parking!! Have you thought of monitoring it at home? My doctor has monitors for short term loan.

I had high blood pressure and ended up in hospital, I would want more answers from the doctors as to what could be going on.
