Cliquey forums??

Forums!
Do they seem to be cliquey until you have made yourself lots of friends and get your name known?

A lot suffer from that but not here

I've often been amazed how quickly new members make friends here. A testament to you all well done!

Forums generally will seem *cliquey* to new members simply because some members know each other and have done for ages.

I find that if I join a new forum, the best way is to read the posts without posting for a while and then slowly join in.

Some folks tend to go to a forum and then launch themselves in with a particularly strong POV and then when people disagree with that POV they get accused of cliqueyness

I have been on quite a few, different kinds of forums, and it has to be said that this one is the only one where there is no nastiness or anything. I have been instantly welcomed, have on a couple of others too, but usually there is always someone who spoils things.

Not on Dogsey though - any possible trouble makers are soon sorted out!

Yikes I better be careful

On a serious note though, I tried a few forums before I settled here. I was very impressed with the welcome I was given and despite the fact your all a bit bonkers..... I kinda like it here

But what makes a trouble maker?

Funnily enough I find this forum the most cliquey, Im a member on quite a few.

I think its more that people have different ideas of what they want from a forum as to where they feel comfortable. I come on here infrequently as I dont feel very welcome or comfortable but thats probably because Im looking for something different, ie heavily into rescue.

So while others may seem cliquey it might be that they're not,the people are just into other aspects of companion animal ownership.

There are a few forums that I am a member of but I don't feel as comfy as I do here - Dogsey is like a comfy old pair of slippers and there is always someone to talk to whether its day or night

Well I suppose a trouble maker is a troll - someone who posts to wind other members up I remember a few months ago on another forum one troublemaker was posting pornagraphic links and alsorts because someone had upset her on the forum - that was totally wrong Thats what I like about Dogsey - if someone tried to do that here the link would be removed within minutes of it going up because its well modded all the time.

Mostly i have found people on this forum lovely... but there have been the odd one or two nasty peops.. just because of one of the breeds i own.. (NI) Which i think is just pathetic..
I felt it was more about 'having a go' to provoke others through me.
