E45 cream safe for dogs?

My dog has a red sore on her paw were she has been nibbling herself. I was wondering if E45 cream would be safe, i didnt want to put it on her without finding out first.

E45 is just a moisturiser, not the sort of thing to put on a sore!

If her feet are that itchy you would be better to see your vet to get something to alleviate the irritatiOn. In meantime until you get to a vet you could bathe the foot in a tepid saline solution twice a day (salt & water). Let the foot dry naturally & distract her from licking the area

I have used e45 when Jamie had his second tail amputation and the skin was reddened... but on Deacon who has itchiness at times, I bathe in salt water and dab on sudocreme.

He had a auto-immune serum made up from his blood and he had to take an 18mth course to build up his immune system against the allergy. We were warned it may not work, inspite of the cost, but I had to give him a chance and though he is not 'cured' per se, he is a helluva lot better!! His coat has really thickened up now and he looks gorgeous, well he does to me!!

His allergy was really severe though according to the specialist and the blood tests carried out!

E45 is used on my dogs for little sores, sunburn - If I've missed a bit with the sun lotion (Sadie's nose and belly) - but find out why she is nibbling - if it is a cut, then the purple horse spray or salt water solution.
