Ozzie’s Appeal!

We posted Ozzie’s ad today in search of his 6th home, but we need your help too ...

Ozzie is 18 months old. He has changed hands at least 5 times and had moved from Yorkshire, ending up in Watford, when we first heard of him. He was run over at 9 months resulting in having a plate put in his back right leg. This explained his strange walk to the people who took him on latterly. We picked up with his story via his 5th family, who got him via a free ad 'free to a good home' 48 hours previously, by some alcoholics. His 5th family had 4 very young children and Ozzie was petrified and refused to get out of his crate for 36 hours.

We agreed to take Ozzie in and once he relaxed with us, were able to ascertain things were amiss with his ?back or ?pelvis not just his leg. On investigation by 2 eminent vets, x-rays and analysis revealed Ozzie was born with one of his back vertebrae malformed. Trauma in the traffic accident had affected his leg which was repaired, but also his pelvic region was damaged. Since then his hip had disintegrated, due to a loss of blood supply to the area on impact. It was clear to both vets how stoic Ozzie was, how accepting he was to their involved manipulations, having learnt to accept pain and live with it.

Ozzie's vet bill is mounting for investigations, basic care and now removal of his hip and aftercare (24.03.09).We think his total bill will come to over £1000 which in itself is supplemented by our kind vets, at Mr Andre's surgery in Kew by Tim Richardson Senior Vet and Team. Ozzie is young and will be able to benefit from this for the rest of his hopefully, long life: Ozzie Clarke in the making. He is already walking well, so much better than when we first took him in. He has a cheerful 'Jack' nature which emerges on occasions, but we want it to come through like the sun coming out from behind a cloud. Can you contribute to his sunshine factor by helping us meet his vet bill, and in so doing contribute to his well being and a happy future.

If you can help in any way, however small, please make a paypal donation to donations@rescueremedies.co.uk via our website.

Thank you.
