Swimming

Having watched all 3 of my dogs swim, they all have varying degrees of elevation out of the water. Jed seems to be very bouyant and the whole of his back lies out of the water. Flynn seems to swim with his shoulders quite elevated and his bum low, and Jessie has her lower jaw in the water because she seems to always look like she's sinking.

I just wondered what 'method' for want of a better word makes the best swimming action? If indeed there is a best method of course.

Jed:

Flynn:

Jessie:

Spencer seems to like as much of his body in the water as possible, even diving under at times.

Funny I took some pics on my phone today of my dogs swimming but I do not have the tecckie ability to upload on to pc.

Anyway. Both of my dogs are extremely strong swimmers.

There is no splashing (apart from when the GSD does his TARZAN entrance) and all you see are their heads.

They both procue "arrows" in the water, although Twigs is not so strong now she is 12.

I don't have loads of Louie swimming, but you've seen him, he makes a lot of splash, something knocked his confidence I think, the best one I have of him swimming is the one Katie took at Trent Meadows, but I have ones that Leigh took.

Splash

I think he's very much starts out as a Jed, then goes to being a Flynn and then ends up as a Jessie.

This one could be that he was tired..

I took them as I liked the juxtaposition of my dogs and the 6 swans on the lake.

They kept thinking that the yellow Easy Gliders were food!

I think he dives for treasure. He usually comes up with something in his mouth whether it's a waterlogged stick or a toy some other dog has lost in the water.

Spen only really splashes when he makes his entrance or surfaces from a dive. Or when the water isn't deep enough to swim in, then he splashes like a small child in the bath
