We got the kids a tin in January for saving money in for our hols to France in March thinking theyd end up with about £30 each...in 6 weeks the OH & I had put £160 in the tin

Really need to start doing it again...! Amazing how so little can mount up.

Thanks for reviving this

Kazz, I read through this thread with a smile, it's great to see people who understand the importance of saving instead of expecting someone else to lend them money.

Good luck to you all, as for me well saving has become a way of life since I chucked in the day job

OH and I have been trying to put £100 a month each in a box - we've had to take some out for repairs on the house etc, but OH counted the other day, and we had £960 - and I haven't put my lot in for May yet, as I've been in here

It's much more satisfying saving for something than using the plastic and then paying for it long after what you've spent it on is forgotten about
Saving is a way of life for me after getting rid of credit cards

....but you had the money to pay and that's the main thing

We all have to dip into our savings now and again...... Losing Mya and getting Bunnie was a very costly exercise, and she still has to be spayed. Fortunately, the savings are there, even if they will take a battering.

I can always earn more, fortunately......
