What is your dog's favorite treat?

I know that treats help a lot in training, showmanship, and training for agility. The problem is, I cannot find ANYTHING that Gunny likes! I once gave him a hot dog, and it took him over an hour to eat it. He just used it to tease the puppy, haha. But I have bought a ton of different brands of treats, have tried making my own liver treats....he snubs them all. He is so picky. So can you suggest what your dogs like? Especially if they are picky? Thanks!

if he likes his dinner could you cut his rations of that and give him the rest as treats?

All dogs like food, otherwise they would be dead!

Perhaps your dog gets so much food at other times he is not hungry enough to want food when training?

I use little bits of heart, liver and chicken cooked in the oven until they are firm. And I don't feed them before training

If its food Dillon will eat it.

He especially likes whitebait. Frozen or defrosted.

I used to wonder why people gave me funny looks at the checkout and then discover I had some mouldering cheese or frankfurter (and on one memorable occasion a bit of a raw chicken wing) in one of my (many) capacious pockets in winter.

But fish!

Mine are really loving some fish cake I made them. Basically substitutes fish for the liver.
Other favourites include sausages, cheese (cubes and primula squirty type) and chicken.
I always make sure they are hungry and they never get fed before training.

I haven't taken any out for treats yet they are indoor treats for the summer they don't last long enough to stink the house out. I may take some out with me when winter arrives. Oh no tell a lie I dehydrated some in my dehydrator but kept them in my bum bag. Which is strictly for dog walking.

I would forget if they were in my pocket then wonder why the supermarket was emptying.

He hardly moved from my side must do some more.
