Internet connection - is there any way of telling how fast it is.

I am with Orange (that used to be Wanadoo and formerly Freeserve - they change their name like some people change their socks ) and tonight my internet is going really slow and its the same on all sites so I just wondered how can you tell if its your internet that is going slow or your computer - is there a way?

right click on your isp provider icon it will give the speed up and down the line xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yes I have one for Wanadoo but when I right click it doesn't give me an option to look at the speed

does it tell you up and down speed you should get a box with a line down the middle on the left it should say up stream on right down stream the down stream is in.the up is out if that makes any sence.

Thanks Carole

I did this test but wasn't sure what to put in when it gave that long list where you have to pick the speed cos I haven't got a clue. I know we pay for 2 meg broadband but the phone line only supports 1 meg so I haven't a clue what to pick there
