10 year old black Labrador / Pointer cross

Our old dog trainer recently sent out this e-mail below. If you want more info or can help, send me a PM and I'll pass it on. He really is a beautiful looking dog.

Hi guys,

A friend of a client has a 10 year old black Labrador / Pointer cross, who desperately needs a new home. Could you help?

They are migrating to Australia and planned to take the old boy with them, but when they last went to the vet, he recommended they find him a new home here in the UK instead, as the 24 hour crating and then 30 days in quarantine would be too stressful for him as he suffers from a bit of separation anxiety.

There is some urgency in this matter, as he will need to find a new home within 5 weeks!

He was a rescue dog from the RSPCA and is believed to be about 10 years old now. He’s neutered and fully vaccinated. He’s got a lovely temperament and he currently lives with a 4 year old child, so obviously is child friendly. He’s got a bit of separation anxiety, but is fine to be left in an environment that he’s used to (at home).

This is what his owner said about him:

“We are not sure of his exact age as we can only guess by his teeth, but
he sure is a healthy playful boy. Good with all animals and children of all ages.

He comes to work with me every day and meets different families each
week. He's a big soppy dog that likes a lot of love!”

Hey! Thanks for asking. I was just about to post an update.

Just got news this morning, funnily enough, that he's been rehomed in Bury St Edmonds.

Thats great news!

If he suffers from seperation anxiety, would he not have a problem being rehomed?

Sorry, just a thought.

As he was rehomed to this family from the rspca i think im right in saying they have a policy that if for any reason you carnt keep the dog you must return it to them for rehoming again, things may have changed now, but im sure thats how it was .
