Puppy pee (removing the smell from carpets)

Can somebody PLEASE help me out there? My 5 months old puppy had just about conquewred house training when he (and our other 2 Border Collies) had to go into kennels for 10 days. When he came back home he must have weed in the house upstairs on the carpet. I usually clean up any accidents but I must have missed a few. I have now dry cleaned the carpet but it still stinks. Does anyone know any tricks how to treat carpets in a few rooms in order to get rid of the smell?
thank you!

BNQ does stuff called rug doctor, I used it before I layed my new carpet on the underlay, took out all the smells and stains, there is a few differnt types so get the one for the smells and stains, works best if you can spray it before you go to bed at night and leave it overnight.

I keep urine off on standby, it saved my carpets when I had pups running about!! It neutrilises the urine and can be used on old stains as well.

There sia liquid you can buy from most pet shops I`ve forgotten the name but it neutralises the urine and takes away stains and smells. Failing that Lakeland do areally good stain remover that is a foam that is specifically for dogs.

Thank you so much for your advice! I shall hit B&Q tomorrow and buy some of the stuff. By Sunday my house should smell better. I am very grateful to you.

Thank you everybody. I am glad that there is help out there. I always used some stuff from the pet shop but that is only possible if you find the stain. My puppy seems to have sneaked upstairs when I didn't know and piddled in peace and quiet. I don't know where the puddles are but I can sure smell them!

I have a Bissell carpet cleaner and use their petformula shampoo which I have found to be excellent.

i am another for the biological washing powder, i make up a strong solution and soak the carpet (after cleaning up most of the wee/motions) leave for a little while and then i lay paper over the top and soak up the water, i couldn't shift the stink after my cat had an accident, vinegar wouldn't touch it nor would the bicarb of soda, biological powder did the job brilliantly
