Whiplash!

About 6 or 7 weeks the OH thought it would be nice for the Dogs to wake me up

Max came bounding in the bedroom and made an almighty leap on to the bed and jumped about really excited....big puppy

Since then, I've had lot of backpain. Was at the Docs yesterday and he said I had Whiplash that would be consistent with a Car Crash!

Anyone else had this - how long does it take to disappear?

I've had it twice from car crashes and both times it went in about a week. First one I had to wear a neck brace, second time i used the bubbles in hot tub to massage it and that worked a treat.

I have also had whiplash twice. Once from a car accident and the second when Zak floored me a few weeks ago. Both times it took a few weeks for the neck pain to totally disappear.

I always thought whiplash was more neck pain than back pain though? (not that I am any sort of expert!). My doctor prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen together for the pain, and to gradually stretch the neck muscles by gentle exercise.

Hope you feel better soon. I bet your OH isn't so popular at the moment LOL.

The pain is the upper quadrant of my torso, there is some neck pain though. The Doctor showed me a diagram demonstrating the affected muscle which reaches into the neck and goes half way down the back.

I've been using Co-Codomol (30/500) and Ibuprofen 600mg before bedtime which helps.

I think I remember the Zak whiplash - was he chasing a ball or something?
