Can you taste the difference?

I know I know - not another food thread!

But can you taste the difference between organic home-grown produce to the mass-produced stuff?

To me the difference is night and day. Supermarket carrots just taste 'watery', whereas the proper organic ones actually have flavour. Same with things like Fennel, cheapy supermarket ones just taste watery - but good quality organic is bursting with flavour.

Personally I think there should be a limit on the profit on food - they would be forced to compete on quality then, not trying to squeeze every last penny of profit out of it - which would hopefully result in healthier food for us all

I definitely can & I only buy organic fruit, veg, dairy products & meat(meat for the dogs only)

If I eat out I can tell the difference & if I am paying I always try to eat at organic restaurants or ones that use organic products

On many thing yes I can taste the difference eg porridge oats/carrots/eggs/bread flour/tomatoes/ cauliflower/runner beans/soft fruit are just a few things where the taste difference is marked.

Fruit and veg picked freshly from the garden just before you eat them are something else again

I had forgotten what real strawberries tasted like until I planted some Cambridge Favourites in the garden. This year was their first year and sadly I only got to taste a few because of the wet weather. Hopefully next year will be better.
