Shaking the scruff

Elsewhere it has been suggested that shaking the scruff of a pup would be a good thing to do to stop it humping your leg. Pup is 10 weeks old. Opinions.....

I would not want a pup of mine to a) fear physical touch or b) depending on breed and individual, start confrontations.

Surely it is simpler to just remove your leg from the pup or the pup from your leg?

I agree SB. Apparently the person has tried removing the pup but the pup is still doing it and when person walked away it
Jumped and bit her trousers ripping them.
It was suggested that she shake the scruff ( gently).........

OTT. Distraction is much better. Playing with a nice toy or chewing on a nice bones is much more fun than leg humping (according to my dogs )

I would always want my dog to have a nice association with me grabbing/touching their scruff, not as a punishment. In preparation for an emergency situation where I may need to grab the dog around their neck/collar area.
