Visiting stonehenge with Bella

Nah not that Stonehenge! But what I call Stonehenge in Cyprus! Modern art structure, just off the walking trail up above the salt lake. This one!

No idea what it's 'for' and all it has written on it is APHRODITE But beats the other stonehenge in several ways for me
*free parking and less than a km away
*no hordes of tourists
*has a bench adjacent with gorgeous views over the lake
*it's not fenced off, dogs are allowed and you can jump all over it if you so wish!
So we set off by car to the lake and started down on the beach, walked past stonehenge up above and then clambered up a bit of a slope to the flat walking trail and doubled back to stonehenge for a sit down and then back to the car along the flat walking path.
We are only going to do about half this much of it

Start off down on the beach

Investigate some fossils (donkey socks left behind in the 80s) and piss on them

Make our way up the slope to the path above but not through this bit Bella! (She's in there somewhere)

This bit's much better!

Go a little further along before turning back

Ah here's our picnic bench

And our picnic - coffee and cigs - Bella had some coffee but I didn't give her a ciggie.

Now lets turn back and go find stonehenge - nearly there and we will be returning via the path you see in the distance and not the beach

It passes very close to the road on the bend just past stonehenge - you can see the apartments through the trees - I live in the road parallel to this one

Best bit about it for me is this lovely bench I can sit on and take photos while Bella heads off below me to explore the undergrowth

Here she is just about to set off

And she's off!

And now we are heading back to the car

Stop to admire the new growth

No we are not going down there AGAIN Bella!

Here we are now it's home to wash the salt off her paws and feed her after another really lovely couple of hours spent down at the lake. Can't tell you how happy it makes me to see her strutting about down there. Full of confidence and running much further off than she ever would if there were other people or dogs about. It's her 'queendom' lol!

Thank you. I've sorted the order of the pics out better now (Sabby knocked to pay his rent while I was doing it) he is only 4 wks late lol!

Ahh that's because I don't frequent the places where the crowds are - coffee shops, bars, tourist strips. Yuk. And why on earth walk your dog round busy streets when you've got places like this just at the end of your road. And this is one of the only places they DO happily allow dogs! (Not that I take too much notice of the ridiculous bans on them in other places!)

lol Lynn can't let Bella have a fag it will stunt her growth! We left the water in the car so I lined my hand with the doggy bag and poured some Pokka milk coffee in it for her - she lapped it up!

Still no lizards but she still hunts them but what we did have today was lots and lots of small white butterflies! She was a bit intrigued by those. She mostly just loves sniffing around and peeing on everything she finds and well just adventuring. It's an absolute joy to watch her and she's perfectly happy on her own (as am I!)

I love these photos! What a brilliant place to walk! Bentley would love it there! Doubt we'll ever get a posting to Cyprus now.
