chunky was neutered last thursday but still is feeling the urge poor boy ...ive been told by vet to keep them seperate which i am doing and i think it is that what is upsetting him as him and my girl have never been apart since we got them ...my girl is getting neutered after she has been to see a specialist in coventry at the end of august ..... will the urge leave chunky or will he always have it ...ive cooked some chicken and pork to try and tempt him

It will take anything between 3-6 months for the testosterone levels in his body to drop and, until they do, he will still feel the 'urge'. Once the testosterone has sorted itself out he will probably not have any desire to mate. However, some neutered dogs do retain an interest in in-season bitches, but at least they cannot sire puppies

thank you sb so is it the seperating him from her that is putting him of his food or that she is in season and if so should i let them have supervised time together so he doesnt get so upset or will this make it worse

Keep them apart! If he has only recently been castrated then he will still have viable sperm in his tubes and could impregnate the bitch. He is fretting because he still feels the urge to mate as his body still has testosterone floating around, and these urges will take some time to disappear.
