Morgan - 5 year old male Greyhound

Meet Morgan a beautiful black boy with a lovely long 'hooter' to kiss! He is approximately 28" to the shoulder and 5 years of age. Morgan is another 'throw away' from the racing industry and now needs a home of his own to settle down in and be loved.

Location: Currently living a foster home in Norfolk.
Key Points: Confident, loving, happy, quiet, affectionate, calm, perfect on the lead and in the car. 100% clean in home and asks to go out, sleeps throughout the night with not even a peep, can be left with other dogs or for short periods on his own, loves to play with toys. Good with children.

~ Personality ~
Morgan is a really lovely boy who is friendly but not overbearing in any way. He loves to meet new people and enjoys being in most situations as he is calm and confident and takes it all in his stride. This boy is beautifully behaved on the lead and won’t pull even if he sees a cat or a small furry. He loves to play with toys and although he is enjoying 4 walks a day at the moment he will snooze for hours with his legs in the air and his little fangs poking out in a big cheesy grin!

~ In the Home ~
Morgan is brilliant in the home environment, very clean and will always ask to go out. He sleeps well through the night and can be left for short periods.

~ Other Animals ~
Morgan is currently sharing his foster home with a lurcher and a 10 year Jack Russell terrier whom he is very fond of after having a very careful introduction with. He can be a little wary of dogs that are in his face until he knows they are no threat but if they bark at him he will bark back and always fully support the claim by saying they did it first!! He really isn't keen on excitable, flappy 'in your face' dogs so do bear this in mind whilst out on walks and with introductions.

~ Out and About ~
He loves his walks and is perfect on the lead and in the car. We feel Morgan very much has the potential to go off lead once a bond is formed and only ever in a safe environment away from any roads or livestock.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Morgan would like to live with at least one other friendly and calm dog. He really enjoys his walks and being with children so an active family with children would be great or an active couple with grandchildren where he will not be left all day. Please be aware that we do not home dogs to families with children under 8 years of age.

~ Where Am I? ~
Morgan is living in a foster home in Norfolk at present. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Morgan is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Morgan, you can contact me (Bronwen) via email: bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk or you can speak to me directly by phoning: 075 000 62648.

There are application forms for adopting and fostering a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill the relevant one in as the first step in the adoption/fostering process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the forms, as well as further information on our homing & fostering procedures, on either the Adoption Page or Fostering Page.

Morgan recently went to a dog show and although he didn't win anything he was an absolute star all day. He was a little bit nervous to begin with he soon relaxed and made his foster Mum very proud!
