Anyone used a foreign stud dog?

Has anyone here used a foreign stud dog for their bitch? Just wondered what the procedure is with the KC.

My friends have used several. They took the bitches to the continent, I think it was the same as here then, i will enquire if you like.

Yes please, just would like to know what they need to see just a 3 gen ped or anything else I have to do!

I'll ask my friend tomorrow. Only thing I remember is that the paperwork had to all be signed by the stud dog owner, & this is where her problem arose as the dog was in this country for a show when she used him with his handler but not his owner & so it involved a lot of paper work being posted off between Sweden & here.

My friend took her parti coloured poodle that she got from Prague, Czech, to a parti coloured stud in Germany and has registered the pups on the KC breed register.

LOL! Yes I know she mated her to a dog belonging to the breeder of my Cooper!!

My friend said to make sure you take the form that has to be signed at the time of mating as usually here a stud dog owner will have things if you fprget they won't,over there also check how the puppy registration forms are goung to be signed. Make sure they know you will be sending them.
As for things like pedigrees it depends on the breeder. My friends stud dog owner asked for nothing as she knew the line & wanted to use her dog on those lines. Know some of my GSD friends have to show hip certificates & other health check details.
