What are your favourite cookery books?

Bought any recently? Which ones would you recommend?

Ahh nothing I could reccomend sorry. But when I went away to uni my mums church were making a cook book
she sent in loads of rescipies for it and they put ALL of hers in
So when she gave it to me for going away to uni it had loads in it from her
Its the only cookbook I ever use - even all these years later

I don't buy actual books, I go online recipes.co.uk is a good site Have a look and if I see anything I fancy have a go at making it You can search by just typing in say . . . chicken and it brings up loads for you to have a look through, all free and added by other people who want to share their recipes

I have just bought a 200 photo album and some index cards and written out all my tried and liked recipes (mainly cakes ) onto the cards, inserted into photo album and hey presto I have my own recipe book

One side is cakes/sweets then started at the back for the mains.

If you want to cook Indian recipes, you can't go wrong with Madhur Jaffrey, IMO - yummy and they always turn out perfectly

Riverford do a good veg cook book, which I find very useful...

I return to Nigella Express, Jamie at Home and Simon Hopkinson rather a lot, plus a large book called Curry - it is divided up into regions/countries (e.g. Southern India, Pakistan, Thailand), and each section is by a different chef....

Also, I find that you can't actually go wrong with anything the Hairy Bikers make, ever!

I have always enjoyed cooking, and 20 plus years ago, I had a Delia Smith cookery book bought for me for a birthday prezzie.

It is my bible in the kitchen, and her recipes do work.
