I bought one this time last year and I'm happy with it. Mine's an Aspire 3004WLMI although I think this model is end of life and has been replaced with a newer one. Bought it direct from Acer, think it's acerlaptops.co.uk or something similar. Had no problems with it at all but the battery life isn't great, about 1 1/2 hours. That doesn't really bother me though. There may be a higher quality battery you can replace it with. Other than that, I'm happy with it.

Mine's an acer TravelMate 2356XM, I've just had a look at the thing that tells you how much battery life you have and with the battery at 96% full, with the LCD brightness at 0% it's 2hrs 20 mins and with the LCD brightness at 100 % it's 1hr 45 mins, the other settings don't seem to affect the battery longevity, hope this helps

Think they are just different names for the same thing depending on manufacturer. Notebooks may be smaller.

Just double checked, notebooks are usually thinner

You could do a lot worse than this one, although I'd probably prefer XP instead of Vista! I think all the new ones are coming with Vista though.
